A Field Guide to Cleaning is a popular science book that reframes everyday cleaning through the lens of fluid dynamics — from the way dust settles in a corner, to how pollutants disperse across a city and into space. We approached the cover with one clear intention: make a book about physics feel like something you'd actually want to pick up.
The concept draws on the visual language of mid-century instructional design. Cleaning tools — a mop, a squeegee, a dustpan, a scrub brush, a spray bottle — are arranged in a flat, diagrammatic layout reminiscent of vintage field guides and how-to manuals.
