We designed the cover and editorial layout for the Korean edition of The Real Anthony Fauci (Betrayal of the Vaccine). As an investigative bestseller tackling controversial public health policies, the book carries a lot of factual weight and sharp critique. Our goal was simple: to visually translate that heavy, objective tone without overcomplicating it.
The core concept centers around the "betrayal of medical authority." To set the right mood, we borrowed the archival aesthetic of old medical textbooks. For the centerpiece, illustrator Topper twisted the Caduceus—the traditional symbol of healing. Drawn in a classic pen-and-ink style, the aggressive snake and virus atop the staff serve as a direct, bold metaphor for the book's main message.
We kept the background muted and vintage to ground the design and give it an authentic, historical feel. Paired with heavy, classic typography, the overall layout brings the necessary credibility and weight expected from serious investigative journalism.
